i envy that. mostly i try not to think about it but when i do, it makes my head spin
i've started going with 28, though. that's how old i'd be if i'd been at home all along, and it's roughly midway between how i feel and how i look. so. it works, i guess

It's difficult to find someone right now. It feels like there's precious few Submissives who don't have contracts, and if you don't feel comfortable with them, there's no chance for trust. [She understands that all too well right now.]

I can't, and won't, tell you what to do, but this seems the time to at least look more seriously. The third month always goes by fastest when you've got no leads.

but you mean something else, right? you mean how your values can change, because you're in a culture that's so different
how when you first come here it's insane to see people naked in the street, and after a while it starts to feel normal? that kind of thing.

Both really. Obviously the trauma affects you more apparently. But the culture is a shock. I guess I'm a little more used to culture shock. Where I'm from there's a Federation of planets and culture shock in each of them is something you get used to.

But I think this place is more extreme than most.

no, i didn't remember anything. it all came back once i landed back here, which makes it worse. i can't even go back and try to find him from there, where my magic's not shackled anymore

that's a shitty combination you have. an extravert who hates people, how do you square that circle? what kind of people do you like?

yeah, i know that probably sounds like an oxymoron. i like being around people and have no trouble socializing, it's just that most of them are stupid, fake or shallow. the ones who aren't are the ones who are worth it. as screwed up as this city is, i've met more worthwhile people in the span of my ten months here than i have in my entire life back home.

i've still dealt with some real nutjobs, too, but you can never escape those. but ultimately there's no real "normal" here and apart from a seemingly-universal concept of civilization and decency, no standards to pit each other against. i like that.
