Both really. Obviously the trauma affects you more apparently. But the culture is a shock. I guess I'm a little more used to culture shock. Where I'm from there's a Federation of planets and culture shock in each of them is something you get used to.

i think that's complicated. i look at it and think it's horrendous, hate how submissives are treated, hate the public punishments, hate all of that
but i don't know that it's our place to tell another culture what's better. that attitude generally leads to bad things where i'm from
but it also carries every red flag for dictatorship so maybe if we could, we should
i don't know, it's tricky. but you've dealt with other cultures before, how would you deal with something like that back home?
