no, i didn't remember anything. it all came back once i landed back here, which makes it worse. i can't even go back and try to find him from there, where my magic's not shackled anymore
that's a shitty combination you have. an extravert who hates people, how do you square that circle? what kind of people do you like?
yeah, i know that probably sounds like an oxymoron. i like being around people and have no trouble socializing, it's just that most of them are stupid, fake or shallow. the ones who aren't are the ones who are worth it. as screwed up as this city is, i've met more worthwhile people in the span of my ten months here than i have in my entire life back home.
i've still dealt with some real nutjobs, too, but you can never escape those. but ultimately there's no real "normal" here and apart from a seemingly-universal concept of civilization and decency, no standards to pit each other against. i like that.
lots of things the main thing i do here is enchant objects with charms so that other people can use magic. usually in the form of jewellery. i have a shop here for that the reverse of a charm is a curse. both are forms of enchantment, it's what comes easiest to me
i'm also good at casting illusions, conjuring the elements, and thanks to circumstance, i'm pretty good with healing and general protective magic, too. that comes in handy when things get dangerous here
what they've shackled is any aspect of my magic that should reach outside this realm. so for example, i can teleport myself anywhere in the city, but i can't teleport home, or open a portal to home, or send communication to home. even to my sister. also sometimes what i conjure isn't at the level of power it would be at home. it's possible they've blocked other things that i don't know about, too, i only know when i try. and they can turn my magic off altogether, obviously. that's annoying.
