look i just know that i went through a phase of 'making' a fair lot of my clothes as a pre-teen and i just don't think any of yours deserve that treatment
as Nate opens the door, he'll see long strands of light teal colored hair covering the floor. bits of blonde are mixed in, but it's predominantly blue.
Thorn is bent over the sink counter, brushing his fingers through bangs to check them, but he looks up as Nate opens the door more fully. )
[ Nate looks from the mass of blue in the sink, up to Thorn, and back again.
It's so...so weird. For years, he's known Thorn with long hair. With those blue ends. Seeing him without them makes him look so different. More human, actually. More like he fits into this world.
Nate moves to him, reaching up to touch the short ends of his hair. ]
I can't believe...I mean, you look good, really good. But it's...all the blue is gone, that's a big change! When did you decide to...?
There's still some. ( Mixed in is light pieces where some of his teal had come up closer to his scalp, but it's lighter and more dispersed. it adds almost an extra kind of highlight rather than color. )
It's been unruly outside my realm. And the blue didn't flow well with most fashion. Nor did the length. ( he shrugs as Nate runs his fingers through. there's just enough length still to cover Nate's fingers. )
[ Nate pauses, and then laughs. The passion for fashion thing hadn't been serious, but also...
It's kind of serious. It's kind of true.
Nate strokes his fingers through what's left. It's easier to see Thorn's face now, his blue ends aren't falling in the way. It makes him look older, somehow. ]
You aren't that blue boy anymore. [ He never really had been that boy. They'd just both thought that's what he was. Nate lets out a breath. ] It suits you, I like it. Bit less to tug on, now. But I'll make it work.
( his love of fashion was a bit serious... in his own realm he could make his appearance just naturally perfect. here has to try at it. which means he has to choose clothes and hair. it has been a learning experience.
but also... Nate is right. he's not just that boy anymore. he hasn't been for awhile. )
Don't worry, I left you plenty. ( Thorn teases, dipping down to kiss Nate lightly. )
Do I? I wasn't so certain if the ears would be just as... odd. ( he reaches up to brush the tips of his ears. they come up into points at the top, though they're only a slight bit longer than typical human ears. )
[ Nate's cheek finds its way to Thorn's chest. He's unfairly tall as well as unfairly hot, but at least Nate gets to take advantage of how much of a pillow he can be. ]
Oh, it's not so bad. We're very magical, if we can clean up four demolished walls, we can manage some hair.
[ He trails his hand down to what's gathered in the sink, brushing his fingers through it. ]
Would it be weird if I kept some? Like would that weird you out?

You look more human, you know.

You don't really see that until you look close. Although, I suppose they're a bit elfin. It's cool, people love elves.

( he's just teasing, but he smiles and nudges Nate's nose back. ) So then my new look... you still like?
no subject
I'm always gonna like. Yes, you're gorgeous. So hot it's unfair, don't ever doubt that.

then he glances at the floor and looks a bit sheepish. ) I maybe should have leaned over a bin...

That depends... planning to curse me, witch boy? ( he teases before rubbing Nate's back. ) No, it wouldn't bother me at all. Keep what you like.
no subject
Maybe. Only the kind you'd like.
[ He's quiet for a second. ]
This is like, a happy hair-shearing, right? You're not trying to shed some...past trauma, or anything.
