There's a woman named Adrienne who's adamantly against magic and vampires and she's just a real bitch about it, too, and I've tried to talk to her a couple of times but every time I do, she just so mean and nasty and just a total asshole about even trying to talk but she's just rude.

How can I when he's having sex with someone who hates everything that I or is scared or whatever excuse she wants to give but HATES IT but is doing that and falling in love with that person, but he doesn't see anything wrong with that.

i guess the closest thing i can compare it to is when i found out chris was in love with jon sims back when we were at odds that was more of a personal fight than general racism, and also chris and i definitely weren't as close as you and methos, but
i felt betrayed. we fought about it. i said i wasn't sure that i could trust him and honestly, it did always live at the back of my mind. i tried not to think about it and chris tried not to let our paths cross, but it definitely wasn't ideal it also didn't stop me caring about him or wanting to be close to him. it didn't ruin our relationship. neither of us wanted it to, i guess we made sure it didn't
so i think, if it was you, it would go something like that. i'd feel betrayed but ultimately i wouldn't want to lose you. i'd want to fight for you and i'd like to think you would want to fight for me too. i wouldnt want this other person to ruin that for us. not after everything we've been through together.

there is a difference, at least to hope, between a personal fight and someone despising the core of her being and having methos overlook that says something about the man himself — he's been avoiding fights for a long time and hope knows that. having been hunted since before she was born, hope is tired of having to defend herself or watch her back; methos has been doing the same for five thousand years, at least. that this woman likes him now means nothing to hope. what does mean something to hope is how he says he loves her but won't defend her because he'd rather avoid the fight in favor of finding new love — something she can't fathom.
