the reality is one day he'll get out of here and none of this will matter anymore, but in the meantime he's gonna drive himself crazy over it
or he might already have, i think he suspects everyone who's left is held somewhere and hasn't really gone home. there's no evidence for it but when did that ever stop a good conspiracy theory?
