i have a friend, i think she's asleep right now, but she can talk to animals in a way that they understand, she could explain

and another friend who might be willing to help come tend to them if you think you'll need a hand with caretaking. she's a spymaster, she's good with secrets and oddities

unfortunately, not in my skillset. nature clerics would, but death clerics less so

cinder's pretty good with plants too, i think? she's a ranger
